We
recently asked Lucia about her approach, philosophy and design crushes. Here’s what we learned.
How did you start
designing jewelry?
It was a hobby
before it really became a full-time job. I guess you could say that it started
all the way back to when I was in elementary school and I would make
beaded bracelets for my friends. In high school, I started to get
more interested in it as a craft and I began to take classes in silversmith.
What is your favorite
part of the jewelry making process?
One of my favorite
parts of making a jewelry piece is buying the stones. I personally hand
pick every stone for our pieces. Many people think that all stones
are the same, but that is far from true. Each one has its own distinct
characteristics.

Do you have a favorite
medium? I would say gold, because it's so easy to work with.
Do you have a favorite
piece?
I put a lot of thought into each piece that I make, so I love all
of my pieces. But, in the end, I always end up falling madly, deeply
in love with whatever my newest design is at the time.
What is your design
philosophy?
I’ve always thought that comfort is very important. Because of
that, I like to create dainty and delicate jewelry that is meant to be with you
always; pieces that you will never want to take off.

What did you want to be when you were
little?
An astronaut. And I still want to see how the world looks
like from the moon.
Describe your look/work
in three words. Minimal, elegant and timeless
Who or what inspires
you?
I find inspiration everywhere. But, a lot of designs come to my mind
after a good workout.
Who is your
design/fashion crush? Kate Moss. She is perfect.
Do you have a signature
look? Denim, white or black shirt and black Converse.
What makes a woman look
modern? Her attitude
What piece of jewelry
is most important for a woman to own?
I would say that rings are the most
meaningful piece of jewelry that someone can own. After all,
traditionally we commit to the person we love with a ring.

What visibly interests
you?
I'm very attracted to interesting shapes, clean lines, and white or
brick walls. But I must say that I find interest and inspiration in
almost everything.
What can’t you live
without? My cellphone, black converse and my welding
torch.
